High Quality Teaching and Learning
St Augustine's Religious Education Program is consistent with whole school approaches to learning and teaching across the curriculum. It identifies how these approaches are developed, communicated, supported and reviewed. This is visible in our school program through a School, Grade and Individual Level.

All staff are accredited to teach Religious Education, as monitored by Brisbane Catholic Education. Religious Professional Development and In-services are provided on a regular basis for all staff. Staff member reflect on and set goals for professional growth and development. Effective planning and delivery of our school's religious education program uses current models of education. Continual monitoring and assessment using the model Principles of Assessment from Brisbane Catholic Education, is the basis for effective student learning and teaching. Interschool moderation of units of work and student assessments occur each term, and Intra-school moderation of religion work is conducted annually in October. School reports are send home twice yearly. Formal interviews with parents are timetables to discuss student progress, while informal interviews may be requested. Quality resources are used for strengthening learning and teaching in our Religious Education Program. |
